More Family Vists

So just a couple days after going to Redmond for Tommy's homecoming talk we had Dave's dad here with us for a week. We went to Target a lot (which I'm ALWAYS game for), assembled Dave's new desk (thank you Rod for buying it! So happy to finally have  a desk of my own again), went to the park, played Rook and had Brad and Laura over, watched movies, Dave and his dad went to see Guardians of the Galaxy together in the movie theater, played outside, and hung out. It was a good low key visit.

He LOVED this chair at Target

Playing in water is only fun when you're in clothes

it started raining pretty much when we were loaded up in the car on our way home from the park - perfect timing!
Still worn out from the park even after having a nap

he decided he LOVED peanut-butter on his oreos - just like mommy

We then had a little over a week to ourselves before we headed off to Canada to see almost all of Dave's family again before we have the baby.

We loaded up into the car at 6:30 in the morning and started our 9 hour drive to Canada. Cohen did pretty good with having to sit in the car that long especially since he was awake for the majority of the drive. We got to Dave's dad's house and also got to see Dave's sister Kerry and her family the day we got there. Cohen loved having Litany and Kennedy play with him while we all sat and chatted. Dave, Cohen, Rod and I went to ABC Restaurant (or something like that) for dinner. That night we were also able to see Katherine and Reed (Cohen was already asleep).

Saturday, we went to the park with Dave's dad, Greg and his family, Kerry and her's, and Katherine and Reed and ate KFC while the kids all ran around playing together. After the park we headed back to Dave's dad's house so Cohen could nap. After his nap we went to the hotel that Greg and his family were staying at and had dinner there before we went and did the pool and water slide there. Luckily we missed the rain that day and were inside when it did. Cohen LOVED the waterslide and would laugh with excitement the whole way down it. That night he didn't want to sleep in the crib and slept in Dave's old twin bed all night long.

Sunday we went to church and after Cohen's nap all the cousins came over again. Cohen loved waking up and seeing them.

Monday we met up with Dave's old high school friend Tyson and his family at the park. That night Cohen and Dave made Dave's mom's cookies together. It was sweet watching them bond over something of hers.

About to race

On Tuesday Cohen, Rod and I went to the mall. That night we all went out to eat at Montana's. They had a paper table spread which was great for keeping Cohen entertained. Cohen had requested a Superman and Batman drawing but was not impressed when Dave would color them in, it was pretty funny.

Me- "Cohen you love that dinosaur huh?" C- "So much"

Wednesday was a very rainy day so we were pretty much stuck inside all day except for when Cohen and I went with Rod to run some errands just to get out of the house. That night he had SO MUCH ENERGY. Luckily Dave was great at wearing him out.

calm down time

Thursday was our 4 year wedding anniversary but we called the trip our celebration. We got to hang out with Dave's other high school best friend Brennan and his son Marcus. We also went out for Chinese food with them, Brennan's mom, and Dave's dad.

Friday was Dave's 30th birthday!! We gave Dave the card that Cohen had picked out for him himself (he even drew a picture inside it for Dave) and Dave also got Settlers of Catan from his dad which was great since Dave has been wanting that game for a while now. We also went over to Kerry's house and Cohen got to hang out with Litany and their dog Jack while we chatted. After that Kerry and Litany joined the four of us for dinner at Tony Roma's which was probably our favorite restaurant we ate at the whole trip (followed by the Chinese one). Then we all went back to Dave's dad's for ice cream and cake and Cohen got the very last of his cousin time in before we left the next morning.

Cohen requested that Jack sit by him and play the piano too

Best part of Cohen having cousins a lot older than him is they can also babysit him!

The next morning we loaded up in the car and said goodbye to Grandpa and Canada!

We stopped at Tim Horton's for donuts to make the Canada trip complete

playing peek-a-boo with mommy while we were both in the back seat for the last couple hours
the very first thing he did when we got home was pull out some tracks to get started making a loop
The following Tuesday we had my dad and Tommy come stay at our house. They got to our house late that night so Papa was up and ready for Cohen before Cohen was even awake (Tommy was busy trying to sleep a little longer though). Cohen got to see his new kitchen and play outside for a bit, we had waffles, Cohen played outside with Uncle Thomas, and then the four of us drove to Target really quick. Then my dad and Tommy headed to Rexburg and Cohen and I went back home. It was a very short visit but we'll take it.

even reading on the new rug is cozy

Then Thursday night, super late, my dad came back and stayed the night. Cohen was so excited to get to have another little short visit with Papa the next morning. They looked at books, played superheroes, had waffles, played with his kitchen, and had shakes.
