We picked up some spicy chicken and carmel corn because they were rumored to induce labor. After eating both I went for another walk just around the apartment complex for 30 mins. Then I went to bed because I was worn out.
Dave had asked to work from home that Tuesday just so he wouldn't have to race back home. I got up pretty early that morning since I had gone to bed pretty early and I decided to attempt the Jamba Juice walk again. It was nice and cool that morning and I made it to Jamba with no huge contractions. When I got home they were a little bit stronger but not by much. Then at 2 pm my water broke and we headed back to the hospital.
Because I was GBS positive we had to go as soon as my water broke instead of just hanging out at home. We got all checked in and were in for the long wait. Things were slow and not really progressing so they started me up on Pitocin and that really got things going. Contractions started to get more frequent and intense and I was so glad when they said I could get an epidural. I had been getting horrible contractions that were about a minute and a half apart. Getting the epidural was nothing in comparison to the contractions. At about 12 they started wanting me to push. Pushing was exhausting! I didn't think I was going to be able to make it through it and that I would pass out from weariness. But I made it through it and Cohen Tucker Zaugg entered into the world at 1:30 am on September 19th weighing in at 7 lbs 8 oz and 19 inches long.
We are so grateful to have this sweet little boy in our lives. He brings us so much joy and happiness.
