30 July 2011

Today I got a Bamboo Pen Tablet which is something I've been wanting for a while now. It's been fun to work with and learn how to use. I made this today with it on My Paint
As far as what else has been going on in our lives we're pretty much all packed up... all the pictures are put away, the clothes we won't be needing are all boxed up and the office just has a desk with a computer on it and that's all. It's crazy to live in a boxed up apartment but it also means we're that much closer to moving which is exciting! Dave has also been busy beating the "Dragon Age" games.... I've watched him play most of the second game. It's weird but I'm glad he's happy.

Cool Paper Art

So I've really wanted to get into doing this kind of paper art where you come up with a design on paper cut it all out and create all the layers until you've got something like these -

I mean come on now, how cool are they? I think it's AWESOME! You can see more here

Fact

I love to read but I'm really bad at starting a book. It'll take me a few weeks (most of the time) to a month to get through a few chapters (I just don't have the urge to read it so it sits there) but once I get going I fly through the rest of it.
The book I'm currently working on, and yes it probably took about a month to finally get into it, is "The Forgotten Gardens" by Kate Morton and it's pretty good so far
There are also three fairy tales within the book which is fun, I'm just a little past the first one. I had drawn the three fairy tales for my mom who asked me to for her book club that had read this book

This Reminded Me of My Husband

He thoroughly enjoys the fact that I'm fine with the non clean shaven look

Cute Kid Pictures

Ok so I've gone on and on about my love for the elderly... well I love little kids too! They're so fun and just enjoy life without worries

why do we rush growing up when being a kid is one of the best times of our lives! Soak it all in little ones.

ps. my poor future kids will hate me because of all the pictures I'm going to take of them all the time.

20 July 2011

As I was typing in this blog's title it let me know I had posted something on this day last year... crazy! Anyways here's for more updates-
We're still visiting WA but Dave leaves for AZ on Friday and I don't head back till the 26th and then it'll be packing, packing and more packing... but before all that happens we've done lots of things like picked out our apartment, we went on a double date with the Novaks bowling. I'm horrible at this but I do enjoy it so I'm ok with always losing, Dave and Molly were the ones to watch out for though when it came to bowling. Thanks for the fun time Molly and Frank! I can't wait to make this a regular thing each month (doesn't have to be bowling though).

We've hung out with my family, enjoyed yummy bbq food and more. We went to my parent's ward for church (even though we're in the other one when we move up here). I got a massage, which was glorious and something I wish I could get regularly. It was very relaxing and much needed. Dave and I went out to lunch today together, we wanted to go to Ruby's Dinner but it had been closed!! So we had to go to Frankie's instead which was pretty good too. I got Dave addicted to crisp burritos at Taco Time (sorry honey). We've looked at lots of puppies online that we wish we could get, if we had a ton of money, a huge backyard, and lots of free time we'd take you all in!

16 July 2011

Dave and I have been in Redmond, WA for almost a week now (he's on another business trip and I tagged along again... we've been traveling a lot though which is fun but getting old). This business trip of his though has been kind of exciting because we're going to be moving up here in less than a month!! I'm so excited to know what's going to be happening and not wonder if we're moving all the time (there was Flagstaff, Minnesota  and then we thought New Jersey and then the Bay Area, but nope). We went apartment shopping today and decided to sign with Archstone in Redmond so that's exciting!
Now we just have to deal with the stress of moving, finding a moving company, packing, Dave's immigration interview we have to do and making sure everything gets there.

Best part of the movie
the minions are the best in "Despicable Me"

The Wind in the Willows

I remember when I was little and my dad would read to us this book. He never finished it, I've heard the beginning many times, but I still love it just because it reminds me of him. So this drawing is for memories sake.

"Love? It's such a funny word. But I know it means wanting the best for the people you love, putting their interests above your own, always. Love does that."   Angelina Jolie

I'm excited to see my family again and to have Dave with me up there this time!
