I wanted to do some more fairy tale pictures so I drew two Hans Christian Andersen tales:
The princess on top of the tons of mattresses

24 May 2011

So I'm back in my apartment in AZ, it is a toasty apartment at that.... and the fish lives!!! But here are some of the last things I got to do while back home:
I babysat a bunch more (including pretty much a whole weekend for a family in my old ward who's son was getting married)
I took some pictures of Kiernan and Jessy
Molly and I went out again: Starbucks for hot chocolates, we got cupcakes, and ran some errands.
I saw "Something Borrowed" with my mom
Over all this was a cute movie...
Kate Hudson was crazy but that was her character
My mom and I went out for lunch at Coho (a favorite of ours) and did some shopping
We also did get pedicures
My dad and I went to target and ran some errands and then went to The Cheesecake Factory and got some yummy deserts and shopped in Macy's for a little bit
I loved being home for a good long time and it was nice to be able to have things to do with my life for a while but I definitely missed Dave and can't wait to see him again soon! Thank you to my wonderful family for having me around for so long, I loved seeing you all (Tommy I was bummed you weren't there!!)

Crafts

So I love crafts! I spend many wasted hours on the computer looking up all sorts of fun crafts and think one day I'll try that one out. Well the more I look at them all the more I've realized why not start?! I mean seriously, I sit around our apartment all day, get bored and don't know what to do with myself (after 8 months, almost 9 of doing NOTHING it gets old) so why not start to do these crafts and fill up my time/life with something other than watch movies. Now I can't wait to get back home and be "bored" in our apartment again haha. So who knows, maybe you'll start seeing some of my craft adventures on here soon.

It's All Coming Back To Me Now

Yes I still love this song.... excuse the 90's "Beauty and the Beast" like music video

"It's All Coming Back To Me Now"

There were nights when the wind was so cold
That my body froze in bed
If I just listened to it
Right outside the window

There were days when the sun was so cruel
That all the tears turned to dust
And I just knew my eyes were
Drying up forever

I finished crying in the instant that you left
And I can't remember where or when or how
And I banished every memory you and I had ever made

But when you touch me like this
And you hold me like that
I just have to admit
That it's all coming back to me
When I touch you like this
And I hold you like that
It's so hard to believe but
It's all coming back to me
(It's all coming back, it's all coming back to me now)

There were moments of gold
And there were flashes of light
There were things I'd never do again
But then they'd always seemed right
There were nights of endless pleasure
It was more than any laws allow
Baby Baby

If I kiss you like this
And if you whisper like that
It was lost long ago
But it's all coming back to me
If you want me like this
And if you need me like that
It was dead long ago
But it's all coming back to me
It's so hard to resist
And it's all coming back to me
I can barely recall
But it's all coming back to me now
But it's all coming back

There were those empty threats and hollow lies
And whenever you tried to hurt me
I just hurt you even worse
And so much deeper

There were hours that just went on for days
When alone at last we'd count up all the chances
That were lost to us forever

But you were history with the slamming of the door
And I made myself so strong again somehow
And I never wasted any of my time on you since then

But if I touch you like this
And if you kiss me like that
It was so long ago
But it's all coming back to me
If you touch me like this
And if I kiss you like that
It was gone with the wind
But it's all coming back to me
(It's all coming back, it's all coming back to me now)

There were moments of gold
And there were flashes of light
There were things we'd never do again
But then they'd always seemed right
There were nights of endless pleasure
It was more than all your laws allow
Baby, Baby, Baby

When you touch me like this
And when you hold me like that
It was gone with the wind
But it's all coming back to me
When you see me like this
And when I see you like that
Then we see what we want to see
All coming back to me
The flesh and the fantasies
All coming back to me
I can barely recall
But it's all coming back to me now

If you forgive me all this
If I forgive you all that
We forgive and forget
And it's all coming back to me
When you see me like this
And when I see you like that
We see just what we want to see
All coming back to me
The flesh and the fantasies
All coming back to me
I can barely recall but it's all coming back to me now

(It's all coming back to me now)
And when you kiss me like this
(It's all coming back to me now)
And when I touch you like that
(It's all coming back to me now)
If you do it like this
(It's all coming back to me now)
And if we

15 May 2011

Here's another update on my visit back home. This last week I've babysat, taken pictures of two families ( one and two ), watched the movie "Water for Elephants" with my mom one morning
I really enjoyed this one
watched "Jane Eyer" with my mom and Jessy
we all loved this one,
even though the ending kind of confused Jessy
been to coldstone twice, went to visit the Fremont Troll, and went to a Seattle Sounders game.
Molly Novak and I got to have a day in the Seattle area yesterday which was a lot of fun! We first grabbed icecream and then we took off to find the troll. After our visit with the troll and wandering about Fremont we went into Seattle and headed towards Qwest Field for the Seattle Sounders game. We walked around a bunch before the game and got some hot dogs and then we went inside and sat and waited for the game to start. When we went to go out to the field we saw it was pouring rain so we went to go buy some ponchos... they were all sold out. We were lucky though because our seats were the last row that didn't get poured on. We got wet every so often but we weren't complaining because we were much drier than many of the others who were at the game. Over all it was a fun game to go see and my first pro soccer game I've seen live.

While Dave Was Here

It was so nice to be able to see Dave for a few days. Here's a summary of the events that occured while he was here:
My dad and I went to the Seattle Airport and picked him up on Wednesday and on the way back home we stopped at a packaging store for my mom, got some Jack n' the Box for lunch, and my dad ran into Whole Foods. My dad took Kiernan, Jessy, Dave, and me to the outdoor shooting range were we got to shoot a few different kinds of guns which was lots of fun. We ate dinner, watched most of the Lakers game with my dad and then went to bed kind of early.
Thursday morning I got up before Dave and babysat for about a half hour then I crawled back into bed with Dave and slept for another 30 mins. We woke up and then headed to the Seattle Temple (which is where we got married) with my dad. I had accidentally left my temple recommend back in AZ and my dad's had expired the week before, but I had called my bishop who had talked to one of the temple workers and the same temple worker worked it out for my dad to come into the temple too. My mom met us up in the temple and it was great. After the temple we went and got donuts with my mom (my dad was staying to do another session or two). After that we picked up Kiernan from school and dropped him and his friend off at home and then Dave and I ran a bunch of errands such as getting him a few new clothes for work and picking out my mom's mother's day present.
My mom got me hooked on this tv series so we got her the first season.
I can't wait for season two to come out
We then ate dinner and we watched "Enemy at the Gates" and went to bed.
For Friday the kids had no school (teacher work day) so we took Jessy to J J Mahoney's, this little Irish pub kinda by my house for lunch.
Jessy needed to pick up a birthday present for a friend and we stopped at Payless Shoes too and got Dave some more casual shoes. Dave and I also got to watch "The Bucket List" for the first time and it was very funny. That night we went out to Coho (they have such yummy food!) with Frank and Molly Novak and we went to see the movie "Thor" after.
I really liked this movie,
it didn't hurt you got to see Thor's well sculpted body either
On the drive home we got attacked by a deer, but Frank was able to avoid a collision which I greatly appreciated. We ate desserts and watched "Dual Survival" with Kiernan and then went to bed.
Saturday consisted of Dave waking up early in the morning and went to play basketball with my dad at the stake center. After that we went to Coldstone Creamery with Kiernan and had a fun time hanging out with just him. We also went to Dairy Queen for lunch too. I had Dave watch "Series of Unfortunate Events" since he had never seen it before so that was fun.

That night we played Scategories with my mom and Jessy and then went to bed early so we could wake up to leave at 5:30 AM to take Dave back to the airport.
I loved being able to see Dave and spend time with him while he's busy with work.

Happy Mother's Day

Thank you for all you do mom! I love you.

Make You Feel My Love

I love this song by Bob Dylan. It's beautiful and there have been tons of great covers on it too! Off the top of my head I believe I have (besides the original) Billy Joel's, Adele's, Jeremy Irons', Garth Brooks', Neil Diamond's and Trisha Yearwood's versions. It's probably one of my most repeated song in itunes with all the different versions I have. Each one is just as lovely and fun to listen to as the last.

(To) Make You Feel My Love - Bob Dylan

When the rain is blowin' in your face
And the whole world is on your case
I could offer you a warm embrace
To make you feel my love.

When the evening shadows and the stars appear
And there is no one there to dry your tears
I could hold you for a million years
To make you feel my love.

I know you haven't made your mind up yet
But I would never do you wrong
I've known it from the moment that we met
No doubt in my mind where you belong.

I'd go hungry, I'd go black and blue
I'd go crawlin' down the avenue
No, there's nothin' that I wouldn't do
To make you feel my love.

Though storms are raging on the rollin' sea
And on the highway of regrets
Though winds of change are throwing wild and free
You ain't seen nothin' like me yet.

I could make you happy, make your dreams come true
Nothing that I wouldn't do
Go to the ends of the Earth for you
To make you feel my love.

Lost Girl

So as a Neverland lover I thought about what my animal persona would be if I was a lost girl. My favorite animal is a giraffe but that didn't feel right, sure I'm awkward but dressing like a giraffe wasn't all to appealing to me. Then I thought about if I could be any animal in the world what would it be. I'd want to be a swan. They're graceful, beautiful (even during those little ugly duckling times), can fly, swim, and they mate for life. They're romance to a t. I don't consider myself to be a swan but if I could that's what animal I'd want to be most like.
I love the sugar plum fairy feel to this one

Raccoons

I'm really enjoying these very easy to draw animal drawings I've been doing lately. I love the soft fun colors of them.

Eclipse

So I finally watched "Eclipse", yes it's been out for a year I believe. But after finally watching it I'm wondering --
I remember the excitement from people that this film was the best one made in the series so far and I really wonder if that is true or if people have just let their expectations for the movies down. Honestly I'm just happy with a movie if I'm entertained, not if they follow the book to the t. Sure it's nice if they can make a movie as close to a book as possible, but haven't we learned by now that it's not going to happen. They had to make extended versions of "Lord of the Rings" and I'm sure there was still a bunch of stuff missing. Plus I really think that the quality of the book and the fan base make a big impact on the film as well. For me the the Twilight Saga was a good enough series that yes I wanted to read them all (minus half of the second book, I wanted to just kill Bella so I didn't have to listen to her complain anymore) but I hated the main character and didn't fall for Edward. As far as all the other less important of the major characters (the rest of the Cullen Clan and Bella's dad) I don't think I could've made it through all 4 books. I love Alice and Jasper's relationship and the interesting qualities that everyone else brings to the book, but Bella, Edward, and Jacob (don't think I forgot about him) are just repetitive to me throughout the series with the exception being the 4th book.
Interestingly enough though when I heard the author of the series had posted up on her website the first couple of chapters (in rough draft form too) of a book she was working on where she went back and told the "Bella Edward" story from Edward's perspective I was actually really curious as to how those books would work. Part of that being I think girls can be good authors, but are often not realistic in the way that they try to have the characters notice every little detail of how the light catches on the deep maroon tapestries in the dark and dusty living room. The other part being writing from a boy's perspective as a woman and with my first point. But I read them and I was intrigued and really wished that she could've continued and published the series. But that won't happen as far as I can see so I moved on.
So maybe with all this in mind (yes I know I rambled a lot in there) I think that this movie really wasn't that much better than any of the others. I believe that we had just learned to accept the actors chosen to portray their casted characters and new what to expect from the film based on the two previous films. And if you were willing enough to go to both movies why not watch the third one rather than cut yourself off. People I think are curious and want to know things and so once they start something such as this they need to see it through to the end. So until that 5th film comes out (yes they are splitting the last book into two movies just like they did for the final Harry Potter book to movie) people will need to know what Bella Kristen Stewart (I do think she's gotten prettier though over the years) and Edward Robert Pattinson are going to do. And oddly enough people will probably say it was one of the better films made but it will be no different than any of the others. They'll still be a little awkward, you'll still wish that it was "truer to the book's story line" and the young teenagers will still love seeing Rob and Taylor.
