26 October 2010

So it's time for an official update again....
Dave and I have been happily married for almost 2 months now! During that time we honeymooned in California, came back to our apartment where Dave had lived on his own for 1 month before we got married, and started the settled in married life. We've bought a couch  which we both still love and excited our first big purchase. We've checked into our official ward where we still don't really know anyone, but hopefully that'll change. Dave has been working for SBM where he had night shifts for the first 4 weeks, learning the things that go on and putting his skills he had acquired working for Don at BYUI for their housing maintenance job. He, since then, has started working during the day, which I prefer, and is still in training for another 2 months and from there is open. I've been bummin around the house all this time, working on thank yous, organizing the house, and doing other little projects until I can find a job. I'm hoping to get a job as a pharmacy tech.
That's the short and simple update on the Zaugg family down in Arizona where we've been loving the no snow of Rexburg at this time of year.

Another Playlist... A Wonderland Playlist

Here's another playlist mix... its purpose is similar to my neverland playlists. Enjoy!

Don Bluth

Don Bluth
I have a love for Don Bluth films... Don Bluth once worked for Disney, but he is more famous for his contribution to animated films after Disney. If you are curious though his Disney films include: "The Rescuers", "101 Dalmations", "The Fox and the Hound", "Sleeping Beauty", "The Sword and the Stone", "Robin Hood", "Oliver & Company", "The Aristocats", "Cinderella", "Pete's Dragon", and "The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh" - all of which are some of the best Disney films. But he left and started his own independent animation studio where he created classics such as "The Secret of NIMH" and "All Dogs Go To Heaven".

All these films are darling and a great competition for Disney at the time. Don Bluth was an amazing artist, producer, and director and has touched my childhood greatly.

To A Father Who I Love

Today is my dad's birthday and my first time away from home on this day. I love my dad so very much and miss him, but I hope that this day is perfect for him. I hope he gets a nice day today so he can run out and go golfing for part of the day between work with his buddies or do something fun. I've always loved doing things with my dad. We both enjoy going to basketball games together, going shooting, or trying out other fun things. We have a lot in common and I look up to him so much. Thank you for being a wonderful father, teacher, example, and friend to me!

Pocket Full of Sunshine?

When we went and saw this movie I instantly related to this scene in the movie! So in this scene Olive receives a card that plays, what I consider to be, a stupid song and she agrees with me as she hears it upon opening the card, but as her weekend goes on it becomes a hit and she becomes obsessed with this song. Eventually in the movie enough to make it a ring tone on her phone. Now I'm not saying that this song has moved me or that it ever will.... but I have been known to sway from thinking a song was stupid to eventually having at a ring tone on my phone and dancing to it in my room... All in all I have done this exact video in real life, just not to that song :) enjoy!!

It's Just A Saying...

Quiet Movies (Not Silent Films)

I LOVE "quiet movies", the ones that tell a story and aren't there to make you laugh the whole way through, but rather speak softly and reach into the heart. My favorite movie would be one that I categorize as a quiet movie. It's "Finding Neverland" and it's a quiet film indeed. It's a love story, but not one where a man falls in love with a woman and they live happily ever after. It's one of a family who according to society has nothing to offer inspires a play-write who intern can bring light into their lives again. The film is truly beautiful.
There are so many wonderful movies like these such as:
Tuck Everlasting
Dear Frankie
Somewhere in Time
The Secret of Roan Inish
Little Women
Eat Pray Love
A Little Princess
The Secret Garden
Out of Africa
Finding Forester
The Duchess
Anne of Green Gables 1 & 2
Anna and the King
Miss Austen Regrets
Coco Channel (the Shirley MacLaine version)

Many quiet movies are generally "self discovery" or biographical films. And can be very moving. These films are often the most beautifully put together as they have well orchestrated score pieces, the film work is well designed and the storyline is often more poetic. But these films, while some become famous, are often pushed aside by others. So here's in remembrance to those lovely films I so enjoy.

The Apartment....

.... is finally coming together!!
We bought a couch this last weekend and were so excited to get it and it was so very nicely delivered to us today and Dave and I are both relieved, excited, and happy to say we FINALLY own a couch. Now we can give Lowell and Sara back their lawn chairs that we had set up so nicely for tv viewing needs. It's so exciting to put together our little home and see all the pieces come together as we wok on having our styles mold together.
And yes that is a piano off to the side of our couch, it was actually our first piece of furniture we got. Thank you Allison and Steve! They gave us the BEAUTIFUL piano which has been in the family for forever!!

Oh TV

So, I'm proud to announce I think I might have found a "girl show"that might, finally, be able to replace the hole in my heart when What I Like About You decided to end after the wonderful relationship we had together. The funny thing is it's an Ashley Tisdale TV series, grant it, I do enjoy Suit Life as well as Phineus and Ferb I can say as a whole I'm just not a fan of her in general. Maybe it was High School Musical that did it to me, I don't know. But beside that I'm glad to have found this show, which also has Aly Michalka (Phil of the Future and Aly and AJ).
The show is called Hellcats and takes place in Memphis, Tennessee at Lancer College where Aly's character, Marti, looses her college scholarship she got through her mom's job through the University and has to resign to joining the school's cheer team. It of course has the much anticipated drama and romance but also has that fun side to it that I loved about my previous "girl show". Let's hope that it keeps satisfying the heart.

A Playlist for My Neverland...

So I have this running playlist on itunes called "My Neverland" and having had problems with itunes a couple of times now I went through and put them as imixes through itunes just so I could have a thing to go off of if it ever gets deleted again. Now I had to separate it up into 6 sections and they still couldn't put all of my songs on these imixes since they don't sell them all, but for an idea here they are-

Now what you need to really know about these playlists (this playlist) is it is the one I listen to while painting, drawing, writing, or doing anything that involves a creativity inspiration. This playlist is comprised of many genres, singers, and songs but all inspire me and are generally on the calmer and light side as to not be over bearing while doing such creative outlets of mine.
