My Thanksgiving...

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday of all, it's the perfect start to the holiday spirit and gets you pumped for the Christmas season ahead of you. It's a wonderful day dedicated to remembering and feeling gratitude for all the blessings you've experienced throughout your life.
One thing I was grateful for this Thanksgiving, being my first as a married one, was that neither I nor my husband had to create the feast for our bellies. I did make two apple pies, but the rest of the meal was provided by my Arizona relatives and our fun Milne cousins from Logan, UT. It was nice to have family for this holiday even though my actual family wasn't there.
Dave and I cuddling at the cousins' house waiting for dessert time
During this thanksgiving weekend the cousins and I went on a hike which was short but nice. It was nice to get out of the house and Dave enjoyed his alone time in the apartment.
The hiking group
Dave and I also got things ready for Christmas around the house which was very exciting. It's so fun to start our own traditions and blend the ones we grew up with. I'm so excited to celebrate this holiday with just my husband in our little apartment and to enjoy these times together with just him and I until the little ones start to come in.

Symphony in Slang

Here's another fun Tex Avery video that shows what you'd think if you'd interpret words for what they were really saying vs the slang interpretation of them... it's very silly and makes you think about word context a lot.

I'm Old Fashioned

I also recommend the Ella Fitzgerald version of this song...

I am not such a clever one
About the latest fads
I admit I was never one
Adored by local lads

Not that I ever try to be a saint
I'm the type that they classify as quaint

I'm old fashioned
I love the moonlight
I love the old fashioned things

The sound of rain
Upon a window pane
The starry song that April sings

This year's fancies
Are passing fancies
But sighing sighs holding hands
These my heart understands

I know I'm old fashioned
But I don't mind it
That's how I want to be
As long as you agree
To stay old fashioned with me

(bridge)

I'm old fashioned
But I don't mind it
That's how I want to be
As long as you agree
To stay old fashioned with me

Oh won't you stay old fashioned with me
Oh please stay old fashioned with me

A Christmas Wishlist 2...

So being on the computer a lot of my day allows me to find things I want for Christmas a lot easier... So I made a 2nd Christmas Wishlist to go with the first
Shirt in M from Disney Store
I just finished The White Queen and LOVED it
So now I need this one which is also in the Cousins War Series
And with that Philippa Gregory Book I also want the Tudor Series which goes in this order -
Found Here
And yes I want this cover, not the movie cover
Then it's this one
Here's this one
I already own The Queen's Fool but it's in my room at my families house.....

This comes next
And this is the last one
Then of course I'd need this movie
plus I just love these kind of movies anyways
Then there's this movie too
I LOVE this movie
I saw this movie twice in theaters and loved it
The Kristen Bell When In Rome not to be confused with
the Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen one
This movie is very funny!
Cold Press Water Color Paper

I Miss Fall

This is what I miss probably the most in Washington while living in Arizona. I miss fall!! I love the changing of the leaves in their colors and seeing them as they get picked up in the air as a car drives by them...
Here are pictures I took back in 2007 of summer going into fall

Rapunzel

So I'm super excited for the Disney movie "Tangled" to come out this year!
I've always LOVED the Rapunzel story and even had holographic (is that the right word?) Rapunzel shoes as a kid... they were pretty awesome though. Growing up though we didn't have what looks like a DARLING disney movie about Rapunzel, but I did have a Rapunzel movie and enjoyed it no matter how much my mom wasn't a huge fan of it.

This movie is definitely older than movies you'd see now with computer animation, but the stop motion puppetness of it is still very endearing all the same. It follows the original tale a lot closer than the Disney movie will or the Barbie movie. The video is a Ray Harryhausen film btw.
The Barbie as Rapunzel movie is too cute too!! It's definitely a twist on the Rapunzel story...
There's also the Hallmark Timeless Tales version which is... Interesting... their Rapunzel is BEAUTIFUL and I enjoyed the prince's song... it's very much like any other Hanna-Barbera creation though in it's awfulness/goodness

I Carry Your Heart With Me

I Carry Your Heart With Me
By: E.E. Cummings

i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)
i fear
no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)

Meet Sneezer....

So the other day we went to the mall by Dave's job and were walking around, getting christmas ideas and just doing something fun together when we saw a little dog shop. We of course had to go in and of course saw tons of CUTE PUPPIES!! We left and were walking around some more, but had to go back and look at the puppies again.... this time we asked if we could hold this DARLING little boxer.... he's 8 weeks old! We found out we were the first to ask to play with him and fell in love! The only problem being we're not allowed dogs in our apartment and affording him right now isn't in our best interest....
He was so cuddly though and loved walking all in and
out and all around our legs

Dave really wants him and even gave him the name of Sneezer
which is what we refer to him as when we talk about him...
all the time...
this is the sad me with the only puppy allowed in our apartment
good thing I love Spot!
