Oreo Ball Pops Recipe

I've made these a couple of times as both Oreo Ball Pops and Truffles for different parties and they've always been a success... I haven't gotten quite into the cute making of them other than doing fun colored chocolate but that's something fun you can try out. Anyways, here is the recipe:
  • 1 package mint Oreo cookies (or whatever flavor you want)
  • 1 8oz package cream cheese softened
  • Almond bark (chocolate or white which ever you prefer) or I use the chocolates in the candy making section in Michael's a lot too since they're precolored and in a microwavable size :)
Put cookies in a food processor until fine crumbs. Mix in cream cheese. form into 1 inch balls and place on a cookie sheet covered with wax paper. Place in freezer  for about 1 hour. (If I am not ready to dip in chocolate, I put them in a ziploc bag at this point)
Cut the almond bark into shavings and place in a microwaveable bowl. Start heating with 30 seconds, stir and then 15 second intervals until melted. Becareful not to over cook or it will harden and can not be remelted.
Place frozen balls, one at a time, into the chocolate. Remove with a fork onto wax paper and let chocolate harden. (I use sticks. it is much easier to dip that way)

Valentine Party

So I thought it'd be fun to have a little Valentine's Day party this year since everyone needs something fun to do in the middle of winter (even in California). We had the party the day before Valentine's Day since actual V-Day was on a Friday of a long weekend. I made the cake up the night before as well as a couple of the decorations and woke up earlier than my usual 7:40 am when Dave is heading out the door to make up the valentines for the kids. After that I got started on finishing up cleaning and cooking for the party. Cohen loved helping me with sweeping after I swept the kitchen once to make sure it really got cleaned.
Almost everyone made it to the party which was awesome with everyone who was invited to the Mommy and Me Valentine's Party having a baby.
We hung out, ate the food and treats, and even did a little activity. Over all I'd say it was a success with all the little ones ready to go home for nap time at the end.

The activity! Love that poem by E.E. Cummings and it's so fitting for Valentine's Day so I pulled a section out and shaped it into a heart on Photoshop, got out the paint and we were all set!

Valentine's Day Stuff

So we had a little Valentine's Party the day before actual V-Day with a couple of friends. It was crazy, but fun. Cohen wasn't sure what to think of all the kids running all around our apartment but he still had fun. We had lots of tasty treats and an activity for all the babies/kids to do. After I took a couple of pictures of Cohen.

Then on actual Valentine's Day Cohen helped me do some more cleaning from the day before. We got to visit with Polin and baby Noah and walked up the hill with Aubrey and little Ellie to Michael's. We ate lunch (including a heart shaped pb&j).  He jumped into bed and while he was napping I took pictures of two of his buddies. I put everything into the slow cooker for dinner. Then Cohen woke up, we checked the mail, played, and waited for Daddy to come home. Then Dave got home, we played at the little park by our apt, ate dinner, and went to get gas, a red box movie and some snacks. We got home hung out a little bit, gave Cohen a bath and put him into bed. Then Dave and I watched "Last Vegas". All and all a good low key V-Day.

My Birthday

My 24th birthday was last week. It was a pretty chill day which was great. Cohen and I did lots of fun playing during the day. And after his nap we went out to Coldstone for icecream with friends, which was super fun! I love icecream. Then Dave got home when we did from icecream, we ate some food and then opened presents.
The Friday after my birthday we also got to go to the Cheesecake Factory to celebrate it again as a family. Cohen loved sitting in the booth with us and was so excited to not use a booster seat. Not only was it nice to go out but we also got to bring home some cheesecake which was super yummy! I loved being able to celebrate my birthday with family and friends.
