21 June 2010

It's update time again... As it is well known by now I am engaged and therefore a lot of my life has been focused on planning the wedding. I have my wedding dress (which I LOVE), the bridesmaid dresses, colors picked, cake decided upon, invites in the process of being finished up, engagement pictures taken, reception hall booked, and I'm working on getting a photographer. Now the sad thing is even if that's a good amount done and a lot of the big parts of the wedding it's just a dent into it all.
I wish I didn't have to worry about this while in school still... partly just because I don't want to be in school though... which this could be because of classes like my French 101 class. Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying learning a language (my first official language class at that), but we go through it so dang fast. I wish that we were two or three chapters back still so I could really understand what I'm doing rather than just sponge memorizing for tests and then forgetting all that stuff except for what needs to be carried over to the next chapter. Oh well... maybe once I'm done with this class I can try to actually understand it all on my own.
Have I mentioned that I also have a boring three hour long class. Yes that's right, three hour long class!! Add that on to having French right before that so my mind is too busy speaking the little french I actually know to even focus on things like Value, Unity and Variety, or Rhythm AND before beloved french I have work where I get to clean out the empty dorms.... if you had told me when I lived in the dorms that I'd be back there cleaning them I might've dropped school all together. My boss is awesome, but really, who looks forward to waking up in the morning to go clean? Not me. But I need the money, so you do what you gotta do.
So Dave and I watch movies, A LOT, we generally just watch ones we own (we both own about 200 movies on our own with only three of them being the same movie.... think about when we get married) or we'll rent from hockley's (50 cents for a movie is a beautiful deal). But we've also enjoyed going to the theaters (cheap or regular) to experience the cinema effect. We've seen movies like-
Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief, This is a fairly good movie, minus the Uma Therman scene.
Clash of the Titans, wasn't as good as Percy Jackson oddly enough, but they did have the better Medusa scene and they had Liam Neeson. If the movie had been longer or if they came out with an extended version this movie would've been better.
Bounty Hunter, was alright... There were some funny scenes but I definitely expected more.
Date Night, very funny movie... I LAUGHED SO HARD at the scene where they crash into the taxi cab and hook onto it. I still laugh to myself whenever I think about that scene.
The Losers, I really liked this movie. Chris Evans was the best in this movie by far.

Iron Man 2, was pretty good. Wish they still had Terrance Howard in it though.

Letters to Juliet, was a cute good romantic chick flick. I enjoyed the reuniting of Lancelot and Guinevere from Camelot!
Robin Hood, was a really good movie. I just wished I had known going into the film that it was about how he became Robin Hood (like the film King Arthur) rather than the well loved Robin Hood story we all grew up with and love. Crowe never ceases to amaze me with his superb acting skills.
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, was a very good film, but that's what you expect with Jerry Bruckheimer. He pulled together an excellent cast to give you a good story that can go along with the game even if it's not exactly the same.
A-Team, was excellent. Once again Liam Neeson was marvelous and I really enjoyed the character Murdock as well. Very funny movie.

Well I guess that's pretty much all on this front.

"Whatever comes,” she said, “cannot alter one thing. If I am a princess in rags and tatters, I can be a princess inside. It would be easy to be a princess if I were dressed in cloth of gold, but it is a great deal more of a triumph to be one all the time when no one knows it."
Frances Hodgson Burnett (A Little Princess)

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres-- Love Never Fails."
