Cohen's Pool

So last weekend when we went to Denio's We picked up a "pool" for Cohen because he loves, loves, LOVES to be in water. The pool is really a really big mixing bowl but it's a perfect baby pool, especially for only $5.
So today I figured it was a good day to try it out with him. I had to fill it up as much as I could carry from the tub and then grabbed two of our juice jugs and filled those both up with water, poured them in, and called it good. I then dressed Cohen in his swimming suit, not bothering with the swim top since he'd be on our shaded patio, took some bath toys and put him in. He LOVED it. He was splashing up a storm and happily playing with his toys. I love how much he loves water. One of these days we'll have to try out the real pool again too, but for now this is perfect.

Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial weekend is a great three day weekend. I love having Dave home for three days, it always makes him going back into work on Tuesday a little harder though for both of us.
I gave Cohen his first hair cut... I gave him his sippycup in hopes it'd keep him from moving his head too much... it failed. So after about a half hour to trim just the sides/back of his head I got it finished... sort of.
We had our friends Juan and Sara and their baby Maia stay with us on Saturday and Sunday. We let the babies play together (Cohen was much better about playing with Maia this time), ate Costa Vida (I've been loving being able to go so much this month!!), went to Denios, took some pictures of the babies, went to Walmart, and  hung out.
On Memorial day its self Dave and I had hopes of BBQing but it was a rainy day so that didn't end up happening. We stayed all cozy in our apartment and worked with Cohen on his walking. This little boy has been getting a little better and adventurous with this everyday.
Now I just wish every weekend was a three day weekend.

26 May 2013

Dave's dad came to visit a few days after my mom left. While he was here he and Dave finished up Cohen's dresser which had been painted a nasty black which Dave and I (mostly Dace) had stripped and then Dave sanded before Rod's arrival.
We also went to Denios on Saturday while Dave was at a team building thing for work.
Multiple trips to Home Depot were made.
We got to have Costa Vida again!
Went to Cattleman's for the first time where we learned Cohen LOVES mashed potatoes.
Walked up the hill on Friday while Dave was at work. The first time in a long time sadly, it's gotten way too hot already.
We got Coldstone one night.

We finally did family pictures.
We tried new recipes.
A couple rounds of Rook were played.
Cohen wasn't scared of Grandpa once the whole time.
Cohen took his first couple of unassisted steps!
All in all it was a great week.
