Before Cohen Turns Two

Cohen is so funny, naughty, curious, smart, and a whole lot of other things. It's crazy to look back, especially with a baby on the way, and think about how far he's come.
When he was brand new in this world I remember actually falling in love with this little guy at first sight, cone head, skinny chicken legs and all. That newborn stage went so fast (it all still is) and I remember wanting him to stop growing but he only got cuter and more fun as he did. So I couldn't help but love him even more.
As these two years have gone by I can't believe how "grown up" he's become.
He is ALL ABOUT CLIMBING these days. Our drawers in the kitchen are ladders built just for him to get on the counter, fill up his cup with water, and drink out of - or so he thinks. We've given up on trying to stop him from climbing over the back or side of the couch to sit on it because he's such a speedy ninja about it. He's also started scaling our China cabinet to try to get the cookies that were only there for a few days but he doesn't believe that they're really gone. He also thinksthat oven doors were invented to be stools to climb onto the stove top.
He LOVES the rocking chair and will run into the baby room throughout the day to go rock in it. We also now have to sit in it before his nap and sing Popcorn Popping everyday and before going to bed at night to sing The Itsy Bitsy Spider and Patty-Cake and say his night time prayer every night. He used to only want to rock in it by himself but about a month ago he's been asking for my "han" (hand) to take me to rock with him and our little routine was created.
Superheroes are the coolest thing ever for him. The best part is when he sees them he kinda sing-says their names which is hard to explain thought actually hearing it but I LOVE it. He's got a lot of them memorized too. His favorites though are - Soupbaban (Superman), Baban (Batman), Wamaman (Wonder Woman), Fash/ Fash-Yight (The Flash), Pada (Captain America), and Funnel (Spiderman).
Cohen has gotten really good about saying please, yes please, thank you, thanks, no thanks, and bless you. He'll even say bless you after he fake sneezes sometimes. And yes he thinks fake sneezes are funny so he'll do a big chain of those and he still fake snores.
Other than superheroes only choo-choo trains and dinosaurs come close to being as cool.
He loves having his window down when we drive in the car, especially since his seat is next to the window with all the traveling we've been doing. He doesn't sleep good at other people's house though. But loves all the attention he gets when we see all our family.
He loves having people with him and will ask for you "han" and lead you to where he wants you and then will tell you where on the floor he wants you to sit. He's also started to say "Come on mommy (or daddy or whoever it is he wants to follow him)" while waving his little hand in the come here motion. We love it. If he was in a different room from Dave or me he will run in and give us a big hug and say "I find you mommy (or daddy)". It is so sweet! When he's doing something where he might fall or whatnot he will say "I tareful mommy" a lot of the time, I guess I tell him to be careful a lot!
Cohen likes to count and knows all the numbers from 1-13, but each week he will fixate on a new section. This week it's been "1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10" but it changes regularly enough. And he will actually count things. 8 is his favorite number though. He also is pretty good at picking out some letters. His favorite is "w" which he can say correctly too.
He has been such a good sleeper over all for Cohen after the first month of living in Spokane and getting used to the new house. Which has been great. He generally sleeps all the way through the night from 8 until 7:30/8 in the morning. Every so often he will wake up in the middle of the night and we will take him into the big boy room and lay on the bed with him so he gets used to the room and bed. I'm hoping he will transition to the big boy bed fairly smoothly but we'll see what happens this next week.

Here are some of my favorite pictures I've gotten of Cohen in his second year of life -
