Weekend Trip to See Some of Our Best Friends

On the 4th we drove up to the Bay Area to see The Fernandez Family before we move back to Washington. Dave got home a little early from work and we got all packed up and just waited for Cohen to wake up from his nap. We loaded up into our car and made the drive. Luckily Cohen was pretty much awesome about being in the car, awake, for a more than 15 minute drive. When we got there we jumped out of the car and were so excited to see all of them. Cohen and Maia took off and started playing right away (as always). Eventually we all went to bed.

The next morning we borrowed Sara's mom's van and drove to Santa Cruz to go to the boardwalk. We had so much fun. We loved getting to see all the sites! We all tried out a few of the carnival stands. We learned that the sound of a balloon popping is scary for Cohen, but that he loves when we win him prizes. Sara, Maia, Cohen and I went on the carousel. This time Cohen was fine with it once we started moving. We also went down to the beach. Were once again we learned something new about Cohen, he is not a fan of sand on his feet. He was so cute and as soon as we would life him back up he'd reach for his toes to wipe all the sand off.

very sleepy

We drove back to their house and had the kids both take a nap. After their naps we went out to dinner, where Cohen actually ate ice-cream for the first time. Afterwards we went to a pet store which had A TON of awesome fish. Cohen was IN HEAVEN! Sadly that night was rough for Cohen so we had to take off early the next morning. But overall it was a great trip and Maia and Cohen were super cute playing together. Cohen slept in the car almost the entire way home which was awesome.

We are going to miss living somewhat close to our friends, but it was great that we got to see them one last time before moving.
