Halloween

So this year we went to the ward Trunk or Treat (or first time since we've been married). We got there and ate hot dogs and then we went inside for the games, which was craziness in a gym pretty much. Sadly we had to leave before they were even close to doing the actual trunk or treat (the part we wanted to do the most too) but it was fun to go and see all the fun costumes. And to finally get to show off my cute baby in his DARLING costume. No one there got that Dave and Cohen were Calvin and Hobbes until we told them though which was kind of lame but oh well. I loved that they went as them.

Then the next day I got to take a couple pictures of Cohen and Ellie with our collected amount of pumpkins, well our one little pumpkin and their three pumpkins ha. But there were some cute ones of them... we had to be speedy with taking the pictures so we spaced on doing one of both of them in their costumes together but oh well.

On Halloween, Cohen decided to wake up a little extra early (I think he got it confused with Christmas). We eventually had breakfast a little earlier than normal and then he and I enjoyed a dum-dum. Yeah, I'm a cool mom. Cohen lucked out and got to wear his pj's all day since they were skeleton pj's.  Then we went outside, took out the trash, swept our patio and outside our front door, played, ate lunch, played, took out more trash, did some laundry, and then it was nap time. Dave got to come home early which is always fantastic. After Dave woke up Cohen from his nap we went up to Jamba Juice for Cohen's free smoothie just for being a kid on Halloween. Then we played outside some more at the park and Cohen mastered going down the slide by himself. The best is when he goes down on his belly and falls on his nicely cushioned rear-end.
That night we had friends over at our apartment. We had tasty food contributed by everyone and fun hanging out. We decided last minute to go and do some trick or treating. Cohen was so excited to go knock on his first door, all smiles and knocking away. He even stood smiling when the door opened but as soon as our neighbor tried to put candy into Cohen's bucket he started BAWLING. He had to be carried the rest of the night or stand a few feet away from the door so he wouldn't cry again. But other than the stranger danger the night was a success. Cohen loved seeing the two babies at our apartment and couldn't get enough of teeny tiny baby Noah.

fine with standing on his own by the fourth door but not ok with knocking or getting up close
