Our Trip to the Land of Snow

Last week we drove out to Utah and then Idaho for a wedding. We left at 9pm on Tuesday and arrived in Logan that next morning. Cohen woke up after 3 hours of being asleep and was not happy for about an hour but then he went back to sleep for 6 hours and was happily awake for the last hour of the drive. When we got to Aunt Viola's house Dave went downstairs and slept for a couple of hours while Aunt Viola and I chatted, played hand and foot, and ate. After Dave woke up we did all the same things again and had a ball. We love visiting Aunt Viola!

The next day we woke up, had breakfast and just hung out before we needed to hit the road again. We lucked out and were able to see Steve that day too for a short visit. We were bummed we didn't get to see anyone else but knew that it was a strong possibility that we'd only see Aunt Viola with the short trip in the middle of the week.

Cohen slept for pretty much the whole drive to Idaho which was great. I enjoyed looking at the snow and mountains during our drive.
Driving to Rexburg

We arrived in Rexburg that afternoon and hung out with Camille and Brandon. We went to a Chinese food restaurant that we hadn't ever been to and watched a little tv.
The next morning we got all ready and drove up to Idaho Falls for Shawn and Jadie's wedding. We lucked out again and had a sleeping baby for most of the drive (Cohen doesn't really enjoy being in his carseat). Cohen and I hung out in the visitor center while Dave was in the temple for the wedding. We watched a couple little church videos, sat in front of the Christus, looked out the window, saw the famous Book of Mormon paintings from the book all big, and waited. Dave finally came back to be with us while we waited for the bride and groom to come out of the temple. Cohen was so tired and cold that we didn't wait outside for them for very long and hung out in the visitor's center again.
After the temple visit we drove to the luncheon and had some tasty food where Cohen slept pretty much the entire time.
Then we drove to Walmart. We finally got Home Alone 1 and 2 (we've been looking for this every Christmas season but can't ever find them). We also got a few Dr. Suess books for Cohen as well as a Pixar book and another Beginner Reading big book.
We then went to the reception (a little early since we didn't have anything else to do). Dave, being a groomsman, had to be in a few pictures. Cohen and I looked at the fish in the indoor little pond (he LOVES fish) with Shawn's sister. We then enjoyed the reception and it's food and then headed back to Rexburg.
Back in Rexburg we watched some tv and ate pizza and wings with the Giullian's. Camille taught me the basics of crocheting, and then went to bed.

Post-Wedding Activities

The next, and last day, we spent with Camille and Brandon who were super nice to let us stay with them the whole trip. We went to the new gym that morning. Cohen, Camille, and I walked around the track while Dave and Brandon played basketball. We later joined them and played HORSE. I discovered that I shoot better while holding Cohen. Cohen loved "bouncing" the ball. We never finished the game because Cohen was ready for a nap so we headed back to the apartment and all got ready for the day. After Cohen's nap we hung out for a bit and then drove to Idaho Falls to eat at Texas Roadhouse which I had been missing a ton. Sadly the food wasn't quite as good as I remembered but the rolls still were FANTASTIC. But we all had a lot of fun there. Then we stopped at the Cocoa Bean which is right next to it where Camille and I both got cupcakes (another place I had been missing and it still tasted good). Then we drove to Petsmart where Camille got a frog for her class. We popped next door to Joann's and picked up some crochet stuff for me. Then we drove back to Rexburg and had some icecream before heading to bed.

For the drive home we didn't leave until around 5 that morning so Dave could get some actual sleep before having to drive back. That drive felt like it took FOREVER. Cohen was awake for a lot of more of it and not super happy. I got carsick and we all wished that the drive would be shorter.

We finally made it home, ate dinner, and then went to bed. The trip although being short was a lot of fun. It was great to get to see family and friends who we haven't seen in a while. We enjoyed having Dave "home" for almost a week. And had fun doing all the activities we got to do.
