1 June 2011

This is what our memorial weekend was like:
I picked up Dave from the airport Thursday morning, we ran a few errands and took naps. Then at midnight we left for Logan, UT!
I slept first while Dave drove for about 4 hours and then I drove while Dave slept for about 3 hours, and then Dave drove the rest of the way. We got there at about 1:30 pm. It was a long drive (especially for Dave who had just flew in and was still on east coast time). We hung out with Aunt Viola and Tommy and waited for Juan and Sara to get there from the bay area. We ate dinner (which was wonderful, thanks Aunt Viola and Helen!!) and then Dave and Juan left to go fishing with Travis. While the men were gone all of us girls and Tommy played Hand and Foot (a classic family game) and Sara was a great sport even though she lost the whole game through. Then Tommy, Sara, and I watched "The Sting" downstairs.

The next day we got up, ate breakfast, and left for the Logan Temple where Travis and Emily were sealed for all eternity. It was a great experience seeing this (the first since I was married). Then we went to a local buffet and ate lunch with all the people who were at the sealing. Then we picked up a wedding gift, picked up Tommy and left for the reception.
The reception was nice and laid back. Travis's families house is beautiful and was a great location for the reception. The best part of the reception was when they cut the cake and Travis was so nice and didn't get Emily messy, but then she goes to give him some and gets it all over his face (why would anyone ask not to get messy and get someone else messy isn't fair) but then in retaliation he gets the plate with the cake and smashes it in her hair. She was a good sport about it too and even kisses him. After the reception we went back to Aunt Viola's and played another game of Hand and foot and then we all headed to bed.
The next morning we headed to Vegas with Juan and Sara. We walked the strip and ate at the Cheesecake Factory and then we went back to the hotel and slept. We all woke up the morning and went our separate ways.
